Adenosina deaminasa (ADA) en el diagnóstico de tuberculosis pleural

Abstract

Se estudiaron los valores de adenosin deaminasa (ADA) en 32 pacientes con exudado pleural, cuya etiología se determinó por otros medios. A todos se les practicó biopsia pleural percutánea. Veintitrés fueron varones (74.2%). Veinte pacientes tuvieron tuberculosis pleural, 7 tenían neoplasia y 5 otra causa. Los varones de ADA fueron de 230.65 U/L, 53.85 y 78.4 respectivamente. Utilizando 95 U/L de ADA como punto de corte para el diagnóstico de tuberculosis se encontró una sensibilidad del 100% y una especificidad del 75%.
