Abstract

Thomas C. King, Jefe del Departamento de Cirugía de Colombia, PBS, New York, EE.UU., plantea que el sistema de educación médica contínua, se caracteriza usualmente por un número excesivo de clases magistrales, mucho aprendizaje memorístico, marcada actitud pasiva de los estudiantes y escaso énfasis en el desarrollo de las habilidades del razonamiento clínico. El cree que ello tiene algo que ver con el conflicto entre algunos supuestos básicos del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje y las teorías educativas en competencia consecuentes a estos supuestos.
