Polidipsia psicógena complicada con hiponatremia y rabdomiólisis: Reporte de un caso.

Abstract

Se presenta el caso de un varón con esquizofrenia que, a consecuencia de un cuadro de polidipsia psicógena, desarrolló alteración del sensorio y convulsiones con hallazgo de hiponatremia severa y elevación de enzima creatinafosfokinasa (CPK), compatible con rabdomiólisis. Se plantea que el cuadro de polidipsia psicógena y su secuela de encefalopatía hiponatrémica deben considerarse en el diagnóstico diferencial de cualquier paciente que se presente con alteración de conciencia o convulsiones.
