Editorial process
Evaluation of the Editorial Board
All manuscripts submitted to Revista Estomatológica Herediana (REH) will undergo a quantitative evaluation of originality using Turnitin software. A maximum of 15% similarity will be accepted with regards to sources that have been correctly cited and referenced, with the exclusion of bibliographic references. This value applies to all types of articles, except for review articles, where a maximum of 20% is allowed. These values are only referential and are complemented by a qualitative evaluation of originality.
Peer evaluation
All manuscripts under the form "Original article," "Review Article," “Teaching contribution,” and "Case report" submitted to the journal receive, without exception, a peer review treatment under the form: "double-blind peer review." Manuscripts written under another editorial form accepted by the journal do not receive this review; however, the council of editors will judge the relevance or observations they may deserve.
Editorial decision
The journal will issue its verdict within four months through the authors designated for correspondence. The manuscript can be:
- Accepted for publication without modifications.
- Accepted for publication with minor modifications.
- Require major modifications and it must be submitted for review.
- Rejected.
Pre-publication testing
All manuscripts approved for publication will undergo style correction prior to layout of the text. A proof of the diagrammed text in PDF format will be provided to the corresponding author to review carefully and point out any errors. The corresponding author agrees to return the proof within 48 hours; If there is no modification, she must also communicate it within the deadline. If the REH does not receive communication in this regard, the test PDF will be considered accepted.
The editorial process will last 6 to 8 months (See flowchart)
