This report analyzes the importance of early rehabilitation as part of the treatment for congenital limb deficiencies, such as ectromelia and phocomelia. The role of the multidisciplinary team in the early assessment of a newborn with phocomelia will serve as the baseline for their growth, development, and performance in society. Early inclusion and replacement of the missing limb or body segment with a prosthetic device will facilitate motor development, body schema recognition, and social engagement, thereby improving functionality and independence. Therefore, the objective of this report is to describe the prosthetic treatment of a patient with lower limb phocomelia.
