Taking interocclusal records is a fundamental procedure in dental practice, both in the diagnostic phase and during prosthetic rehabilitation. However, conventional methods present significant challenges arising from the handling of materials, patient cooperation, and operator skill. Factors such as the dimensional instability of materials, articulator handling, and model storage can compromise the accuracy of the final assembly. In this scenario, the incorporation of CAD/CAM technologies has made it possible to overcome various analog limitations, optimizing the clinical workflow, although this technology continues to evolve. The objective of this article is to conduct a literature review on the accuracy of digital interocclusal records compared to analog ones, in order to provide updated evidence to guide clinicians in selecting the most appropriate technique for occlusal analysis in each case.
